Banzai is a Japanese word used to express a cry or cheer of enthusiasm, or to celebrate victory. In Japanese, banzai literally means (may you live) ten thousand years. Often misused in place of banzai is bonsai, a Japanese artform of cultivating and pruning trees or shrubs in small pots.
